The UK economy: A challenging and uncertain outlook!

Prior to the coronavirus shock, the UK economy was experiencing a recovery that was markedly slower and more protracted than previous downturns. The situation today has changed dramatically, with expectations of a sharp, and likely deep, downturn in the course of 2020, with the government and Bank of England forced into action on an unprecedented scale.

Against this uncertain economic backdrop, we will examine the challenges facing the UK economy. We will also look at the impact of the revised economic outlook on UK financial markets and against this backdrop will outline where our managers believe the most attractive opportunities are for investors in UK financial markets currently, with a particular focus on UK equities.
